KITCHEN & BATH

Renovations focused on small bathrooms and partial kitchens.

The perfect example of simple projects with maximum impact. Updating a half bath or small bathroom may be a mid-sized project, but it can increase the livability of a home in a big way, and simply adding a back splash or a wet bar to a kitchen can completely transform the space.

Small remodeling projects like these are always possible to DIY, but the time and expertise required is generally underestimated. They are also small enough to be a low priority for your typical kitchen and bath remodeler, and even if the give you an estimate, remodeling companies in Missoula are busy enough that you’ll no doubt pay a premium.

Changing cabinet hardware is a good high visibility renovation, but if you really want to upgrade and protect your kitchen for the long run, new or resurfaced cabinet fronts are a smart decision. Repainting is always an option, but the problem with even the most durable house paint is it doesn’t hold up well to grease and cleaning products. With that in mind, even professionally repainted cabinets will have a relatively short lifespan.

Instead, we offer and recommend using a coating system for bare wood, it’s a new water-based finish superior to traditional enamel paint for cabinet fronts. It comes in a satin or glossy finish, translucent to show off the wood or tinted to any color. It creates a scratch resistant barrier that penetrated deeply into wood pores to waterproof. So unlike traditional paint, which just builds in a layer on the woods surface, this coating creates a protective barrier that actually absorbs into the wood and creates a finish perfect for kitchen and bath applications.

Another often overlooked part of your kitchen and bath is sealing and restoring your tile and stone. Even when not part of a renovation, this is a small maintenance project that should be done every year, and your tile floors or stone counters will last a lifetime. Fresh cleaning and sealant will also make these surfaces easier to clean dirt and grime throughout the year.
